MediaInfo supplies technical and tag information about an audio or video file. Can be used to find missing codecs or just to get all the information you need from a multimedia file.
MediaInfo can parse these informations :
* General: title, author, director, album, track number, date, duration...
* Video: codec, aspect, fps, bitrate...
* Audio: codec, sample rate, channels, language, bitrate...
* Text: language of subtitle
* Chapters: number of chapters, list of chapters
Containers and formats supported by MediaInfo :
* Video: MKV, OGM, AVI, DivX, WMV, QuickTime, Real, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DVD (VOB)...
(Codecs: DivX, XviD, MSMPEG4, ASP, H.264, AVC...)
* Audio: OGG, MP3, WAV, RA, AC3, DTS, AAC, M4A, AU, AIFF...
* Subtitles: SRT, SSA, ASS, SAMI..
Tips :
1) If you want to render MediaInfo more portable then click on "Options" then press the "Preferences", hit on the "Setup", and make sure you have unchecked the "Shell extension" and "Shell InfoTip" checkboxes.
2) Use the sheet, tree or text mode in order to get most detailed informations.
Download the 7-Zip package (MediaInfo_XXX_i386_WithoutInstaller.7z) and extract to a folder of your choice.
Launch "MediaInfo.exe".
