The Word is a completely free, high quality bible software made by Costas Stergiou.
The Word consists of a main program (engine), and a list of add-on modules like Bibles, in different languages, commentaries, dictionaries, books, maps, fonts, different translation files, etc.
The program helps the reader to customize the reading by selecting predefined layouts (View - Layouts - Predefined layouts). I find useful the Novice layout.
Includes a handy search engine, also supports cross references, right to left languages, footnotes, and verse lists.
A great great great utility, highly recommended.
1. Download the software along with any add-on modules you want.
2. Run "The Word" installer, click next, press "I Agree" and on the installation type select Compact (Single folder) and also check the USB flash drive mode option. Then hit "Next"
3. From the next screen (Choose components) select the modules you want installed on your USB flash drive. Click "Next"
4. Make sure the USB flash drive is inserted in a USB slot of your PC. From the next screen (Choose install location) click Browse and select the drive letter of the USB flash drive
5. Click Install and wait until the installer finishes.
6. Double-click the "theword.exe" in order to execute the program.
