DC++ is a freeware peer to peer client for the Direct Connect file sharing network. It is a decentralized network, made up of individual servers that users join to share files with other members.

This open source software, under GNU GPL license, doesn't have any ads, spyware, or bundled software that you don't need. It can join to multiple servers (hubs) at the same time and you can make a list of bookmark-like favorite hubs and users. DC++ can share large files and make use of Tiger Tree Hashes (TTH) for file integrity.
Supports resume of downloads, with optional search for alternate sources. Logging options and configuration for chat, private messages, downloads, and uploads.
DC++ can help you search files by type, size, or name across all (or selected) connected hubs. It is translated into many languages and has a lot of other features that can be discovered in use.

Basic configuration

When you run DC++ for first time it will ask you to configure some settings. First of all, give a Nick name and set your upload line speed. Then go to Connection Settings and set your TCP, UDP and TLS ports. Finally go to "Settings - Downloads" in order to set your default download directory, unfinished download directory and limits of maximum simultaneous downloads.

Installation info:
