GOM Player

Gom media player main window.

GOM Media Player is a freeware video and audio player for Windows, that includes built-in codecs, supporting different media format files such as AVI, MPG, MPEG, DAT, flv and streaming Windows media formats.

GOM uses low CPU utilization while giving the best possible image and subtitle quality. It can play using built-in codecs : AC3, OGG, XVID, DIV1, DIV2, DIV3, DIV4, DIV5, DIV6, DIVX, DX50, MP41, MP42, MP43, H263, AP41, MPG4, MP4S, M4S2, MP4V, BLZO, MJPG, RMP4, DXGM and H264 media files. So there is no need to install separate codecs for most videos and for unsupported media files, GOM player has Codec Finder service which will find the appropriate open source codec that should be installed and direct you to a place where you can download it.
Another GOM player feature is that it can play AVI files with broken index. AVI files can't be played when the index is broken, or if the file isn't completely downloaded. This is because the index is located at the end of the file. So if something happens to your Internet connection and an AVI file wasn't downloaded completely, this player will play it.
GOM Player supports various subtitle formats (such as SMI, SRT) and allows you to specify margin, location, size, resolution, font, enable shadow, view ASF files with subtitle, karaoke subtitle mode, synchronize subtitle and video if there's any mismatch. Also you can take a screenshot of your video directly from GOM Player and using "Burst Capture" feature, you can take continuous screenshots up to 999 shots.
GOM player has a similar format as M3U and it's easy to create and edit your own multimedia playlists, which can include different media formats. Finally, there are a lot of skins and logos available online at GOM player library.
